1 First off- IF you have any of my previous Apocalypse now sceneries (They must be removed)-IMPORTANT
That is only in the (addon scenery library) and in (Lago FSE).. do not worry about removing any effects as
they will be overwitten and or added in the install
Here are the file names to be removeD-- that is if you have them installed..--(If you know that you DO NOT have
these installed) then please skip to (APOC 2006 INSTALL)
Here are the files to be removed..
1(APOC NOW 04)..Check your FS9 Scenery Library and delete it..
2(APOC NOW 04 REDUX ADDON).Check your FS9 Scenery Library and delete it..
3 LAGO FSE..fse is no longer needed..It is important to remove any of these files
apocalypsenow.SE2..location= your LAGO DATA folder
apocalypsenow.OSC..Location = your LAGO TRACKS folder
apocalypsenow.SC...Location = your LAGO SOUNDS folder
Delete Delete Delete!!
Important..All of these must be removed or you will get duplicate sceneries clashing and crAshinG!! as this file
is re-created in the same area...
(APOC 2OO6 INSTALL)
1 Copy the folder (APOC NOW 2006) into your FS9 (ADDON SCENERY) folder and add it into the Library
Now ready to go-Start FS2004 and add the scenery area (APOC NOW 2006)-at main menu click (SETTINGS)
then (SCENERY LIBRARY)
and a box appears-then OPEN the (ADDON SCENERY) folder and find the (APOC NOW 2006) folder and SINGLE
click it to highlight it
and at the bottom right of the box click OK-then click OK again at the bottom main menu-Now the scenery is added and
at any time you can open the (SCENERY LIBRARY) and turn it OFF or BACK ON.-(NOW YOU MUST EXIT FS2004 @ RESTART IT) for the scenery to be aDDed but WAIT!! there is more to add before you restart..
2 EFFECTS--open my folder (Here) EFFECTS and copy them and paste them into your FS9 (Effects) folder..you may get an
this file already exist..(OVERWRITE ALL) I make carefull care not to mess up my friends effects files...Make sure you
cliK (OVERWRITE ALL) though as I have some of my own effects files that have been RE-written..failure to do so may result
in bad framerates ect!!!
3 EFFECT TEXTURE..open my folder (here) - (EFFECTS-TEXTURE) and copy these into your FS9 Effects\Texture folder
these are specially desighned bmp's for my effects files
4 SPECIAL AI SOUND replacement --this is optional but makes all the difference..This replaces the AI--xai_singleprop01.wav sound with my own Helicopter sound..Fs2004 does not give desighners the option of making their own AI aircraft sounds to
be added so you have to (Overwrite) a default one..What this does is (in my scenery) the helicopters flying by you will have
a helicopter sound instead of a --cessna prop sound..I include the default FS9 wav as your return replacement to normal..
To install..open my folder (AI replacement sound) and copy the file -xai_singleprop01.wav into your FS9 (Sound) folder and (Overwrite) it..Note..If you are in another scenery and a AI cessna flys by sounding like a helicopter--remember to return
to here and copy in the (DEFAULT) back in..
5 AIRCRAFT --
Open my (AIRCRAFT) folder here and copy and paste them all into your FS9 (Aircraft) folder
This includes all the AI aircraft,boats and ships as well as the Helo you will fly and the boat for the scenery
6 TRAFFIC --open my folder here (TRAFFIC) and copy and paste my file (Traffic_apoc.bgl) into your FS9/Scenery/World/Scenery folder...this activates the AI
7 APOC nOw 2006 FliGhTs ..Copy this folder into your FS9 (Flights) folder...
make sure you followed all these steps to the LETTER....
8 NOW START FS2004---4 Now go to (SELECT A FLIGHT) and scroll to (APOC nOw 2006 FliGhTs)
There are 2 flights the first takes off of the Apocalypse now helicopter attack the second is the Pbr boat
journey up the Nung river...each flight takes approx 45 min. Read more info on the flights screen before taking oFF
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS...you will probably need a modern machine...feel free to experiment though for faster framerates by
randomly deleting anything in my Addon scenery (folder) the reason I add this is I have simmers who wonder (what went wrong) when their framerates drop from 40FPS to 38 FPS..BUGGG..I have an old 2.53 ghz processor/ATI 9600 vid card
1 gig of ram and this scenery never drops below 9 or 10 FPS at the hardest views if that helps..it is best to not ZOOM out all the time though..as FS9 is so open ended (unlike games) that keep you in a boundary box..you are own your own..like Capt Willard!!``
